Below is how the price is built up, what pushes it up or down, and how a respray compares with the alternatives on a like-for-like London kitchen. Your written quote confirms the exact figure for your kitchen. ## What Changes the Price of a Kitchen Respray ### Number of doors and drawer fronts Price follows the number of sprayed faces far more closely than the floor area of the room. We count every door, drawer front, end panel, plinth and cornice at survey and quote from that count — not from a guess about kitchen size. ### Door material Painted MDF and previously hand-painted timber are the most straightforward. Oak and other open-grain timbers need grain-filling if you want a flat modern finish, which adds a day. Laminate, melamine, thermofoil and vinyl-wrapped doors need a specialist adhesion primer — sprayable, but they carry a small uplift. ### Condition Chips, swelling around sink units, peeling vinyl or heavy grease all add preparation time. Preparation is around 60% of the labour on any respray, and it is the part that determines whether the finish lasts five years or five months. ### Colour and finish Any colour from any brand — Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, RAL, or a custom match — is included. Very deep colours and bright whites occasionally need an extra coat. Matt, satin and gloss are all the same price. ### Extras New handles and knobs, worktop refurbishment, spraying the surrounding walls and woodwork, or respraying uPVC doors and windows can all be added to the same visit at a lower cost than booking them as separate jobs. ## Respray vs New Kitchen vs Replacement Doors ### Respray From £2,100 5 working days. Frequently costs more than spraying the doors you already have. ### New kitchen £15,000 – £30,000+ Four to eight weeks of plumbing, electrics, tiling and decoration, plus 500–800kg of perfectly good cabinetry sent to landfill. Worth it only if the layout or the carcasses genuinely need replacing. If your carcasses are sound and the layout works, a respray does the same visual job for a fraction of the money.
